Sugaring techniques are very different to waxing; it removes hair in the natural direction of hair growth and involves a ‘flicking action' using a gently warm product. Here's more about how the treatment works:
- The therapist prepares the client's skin with a cleanser that removes oils, lotions and any surface debris.
- The skin is misted with an antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory tonic followed by a drying powder.
- The therapists then moulds and massages in several layers of lukewarm sugar paste. This allows the sugar paste to coat all of the hair while it also melts down into the skin and coats the hair inside the skin follicles to help ease each hair out. Removing hair when it is very short is ultimately important because the hair is in the growing stage. Continual extraction of hair in this period will deplete the follicle to the point of no more growth.
- A flicking motion is then used to remove the paste and the hair
- Another spritz of tonic is followed by a moisturising lotion resulting in incredible smooth, silky skin.
