Facial Treatments - 2 days
A Facial Treatment is one of the beauty industries key treatments. Learn how to recognise and treat different skin types and conditions. As well as learning the basic facial techniques, you will also be taught how to integrate your facials with a neck and shoulder massage movements, facial steamers and also the ability to mix and apply your own facial formulae. This course is a fantastic foundation of all beauty courses.
Once you successfully complete the Facial Treatments training course you will receive The Carlton Institute diploma. This will enable you to obtain public liability insurance.
Facial Treatments - 2 day course content
Day 1
- Structure of the skin. review of anatomy and physiology of the muscles, bones and lymphatic system in the shoulders, neck, head and face.
- Client consultations
- Different skins types and how to treat
- Contra- indications to facials.
- Practical begins with demonstration and training in basic cleansing, toning, deep cleansing and moisturising.
Day 2
Students will be taught to carry out a full facial, following the NVQ syllabus including;
- Cleansing
- Deep cleansing
- Toning
- Exfoliating
- Mask mixing (powders and active ingredients) and application.
- Facial shoulder and massage, finishing
- Aftercare advice, retailing, product advice and pricing.
Students are required to return 6 - 8 weeks following the course to carry out a full facial and to ensure they are totally confident with the treatment.
What will I receive when I complete the course?
Once you successfully complete the Facial Treatments training course you will receive The Carlton Institute Diploma. This will enable you to obtain public liabiliy insurance.
Get NVQ qualified and improve your employability
You can also obtain an NVQ qualification in facial treatments.
- Externally accredited qualifications increase your chances of getting jobs as employers recognise these qualifications as work ready in the same way as GCSE's and A levels in other subjects.
- Accredited qualifications are recognised both nationally and internationally e.g. NVQ's in England & Wales and SVQ's in Scotland. The opportunity to work abroad or on cruise ships is significantly increased by having these qualifications accredited externally.
- You will be able to obtain public liability insurance.
- Some advanced courses require an accredited qualification as a pre-requisite for the course.
How much will it cost to do my NVQ qualification?
NVQ Accreditation Fee - £129+vat
There is also a one off fee to register you with each external awarding body (e.g. currently £16 for VTCT), this needs to be paid for your first course only. Registration fee that we pay to our Awarding Body on your behalf.
You must register for you NVQ within 8 weeks from the start of your course. The NVQ fee covers:
- Marking and assessing your portfolio
- Study and assignment notes.
- Theory exams.
- The time taken for and the uses of equipment and products at your practical assessment.
- The fees we pay to the external awarding body for your certification and testing materials.
Locations
The Facial Treatments training course can be completed at our Derby and Tamworth training centres. Refreshments will be provided for you.
Entry requirement for Facial Treatments
No previous experience is necessary to complete our Facial Treatments training course.
