Treatments to get rid off acne

There are a broad range of acne treatments on the market available to buy at your local chemist. Many of these do contain helpful ingredients, but some are quite harsh on the skin and can actually irritate it even more, causing inflammation.

Beauty therapy course teaches you how to deal with individual skin needs. The different types of spots can vary from papules, pustules to cysts. Cystic acne requires more attention, and can mean visiting a dermatologist if it persists long term. If a client is not already seeing on, it may be worth referring them. Dermatologists may recommend some creams or gels such as benzoyl peroxide these are normally drying to the skin, so keep this in mind. Although normal moisturisers must be avoided, an oil-free moisturiser is essential to stop the skin producing excess oil to combat the dryness.

If someone is taking antibiotics to stop acne, then it is important to foods such as yoghurt to encourage healthy bacteria in the gut.

However, by getting regular facials this can help to cleanse the skin, removing impurities and excess sebum. Exfoliation removes the dead skin cells that clog the pores combined with bacteria that cause acne.

Once the acne is gone, there may be scarring that could be removed using a light chemical peel depending on the severity of the damage done.

Acne can cause great distress in a client's everyday life, and can really affect their confidence.

When receiving beauty training you will come across numerous skin conditions, one of the most common being acne.

Whilst on a makeup course you may learn techniques to cover acne which will help the client in the short term, but as mentioned, it is important to prevent the problem through correct skincare and treatment, rather than layering on makeup.
