The foundation of all beautician courses.  You will be taught to provide expert facials and how to diagnose and treat different skin types and conditions. LASH & BROW TREATMENTS COURSE - half day or evening
This eye treatments course will train you in the techniques required to offer safe eyelash and eyebrow tints and eyebrow shaping. These treatments are particularly popular with waxing clients as they need to be repeated every six weeks and can be given at the same appointment.

EYELASH PERMING COURSE - half day or evening
A completely safe, insurable treatment. The eyelashes are adhered to a mini roller and a mild perming product is used to curl them for up to 3 months. Salons charge £25 to £30 for this service which can be given before an eyelash tint.

Facial or Body Massage experience is required in order to enrol on these courses. A seaweed and aromatherapy inch loss treatment. You will be taught how to apply the products, wrap and measure the client and mix a specific wrap formula tailored to your client's individual needs. HENNA BODY ART COURSE (also called MEHNDI) - half day or evening
Learn how to apply freehand temporary "henna tattoos" using natural henna. Designs last up to 3 weeks. You will also be shown how to decorate the mendhi designs with body paints and bindis (body jewels). Our own professional kit "The Mehndi System" includes all you need to apply dozens of different designs and even contains stencils for faster application. Our system has been developed to fulfil health and safety requirements for commercial application and the IHBC Mehndi Skin Decoration Diploma syllabus.

COSMETIC SKIN TANNING COURSE (manual application) - half day or evening
Cosmetic tanning has become an essential service in many salons. The Carlton Institute has developed this course to meet the requirements for the IHBC Cosmetic Skin Tanning unit which can be taken as an optional qualification.     We use ST. TROPEZ self tanning products on our course as they has been developed for the professional market. It gives a natural bronzed look and is suitable for use on vitiligo, scar tissue and stretch marks. Aloe leaf juice and AHA produce the richest tan possible and a special pigment is present to counteract any orange tones. You will be able to experience the treatment yourself and leave us with a gorgeous tan.
