Suki Kalirai - Director & Principal
Suki has 25 years experience operating at the highest level in business. After graduating in chemistry from Imperial College he worked in marketing, operations and general management for Unilever, Coca-Cola International (Director European Operational Planning, Director European Marketing) and Forte & Le Meridien Hotels (main board globally).
In February 2000 Suki founded and set up SSI the parent company behind re-aqua and Dove Spa. By 2007, when he moved his attention to the Carlton Institute, SSI had grown to 30 sites in the UK, 14 in Spain and 2 in Mexico. Suki has always had a passion for training and his acquisition of Carlton Institute was no surprise to anyone that has heard him talk about the most important element of any spa or salon's success - the people running it day to day. Suki is Chairman of the Spa Business Association and a director of Habia (the UK standard setting body for spa, hair & beauty).
Helen Glenn - Senior Tutor & Lecturer
Helen is an experienced senior lecturer and has a practical knowledge of running and opening small salons as well as multi-million pound spa projects both in the UK and abroad. Helen is a qualified assessor and teaches the full range of NVQ Levels 2 & 3 topics and Hot Stone, Indian Head and Spray Tanning. Helen also teaches a wide array of business courses in subjects as diverse as retailing, setting up and marketing a new site.
Helen started her career at Ragdale Hall in 1997 before working with Steiner on board the cruise ships, at Old Government Hotel and as a lecturer in beauty therapy both in Guernsey. Helen joined us in May 2007 having completed the opening and early years of running the multi-million pound Devon Cliffs Spa development at a leisure destination near Exeter.
Lisa Veale - HR and Customer Services Manager
Lisa's background is in business admin and consultancy, and joined the Carlton Institute in 2010 as our HR & Customer Services Manager. The role is diverse involving being the main contact and co-ordinator of our sites, as well as helping the Customer Services team to deliver not only a first-rate service, but also offer advice on which is the best course and qualification for you.
