We are looking for skilled lecturers that can teach some or all of the following subjects:
- Beauty Therapy L2
- Beauty Therapy L3
- Massage NVQ L3
- Nail Extensions
- Threading
- Eyelash Extensions
- Holistic therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Hot Stone Therapy
Position reports to:
- Training Centre Supervisor and Senior Lecturer for supervision on day to day basis
- Client supervisor for specific corporate clients
Job purpose - summary
- To teach, train and assess accredited or other courses and training programmes to help people work more effectively in spa and salon environments
- To be able to transfer the passion and enthusiasm for roles in spa and salon environments to the students/delegates
- To actively help improve current courses and develop new courses
- Look at other industries that could benefit from similar courses
- To carry out course administration and help as needed in the running of the Training Centre / location
Lecturer Position - Description of Main Responsibilities
1. To teach/train and prepare course material for customers at various levels in your own agreed variety of courses (or specialise in an area that adds to current team) within the Carlton Institute offering. Will require flexibility to teach some evenings and weekends.
2. To undertake student assessments as required by Carlton Institute and any external bodies working with us
3. To ensure all aspects of teaching are at minimum in line with the standards set for that course as agreed beforehand and to continually strive to build quality to become the best practice in the spa and salon sector
4. To take the initiative to propose and gain agreement to course improvements and developments to keep Carlton Institute courses ahead of the competition and up-to-date with training and industry trends. This includes producing high quality course material
5. To participate in any internal course verification as required
6. To deliver excellent customer service and promote repeat bookings where appropriate for the customer
7. To be available to teach courses in other locations if needed by the business
8. To be able to carry out course administration efficiently and understand how to liase and utilise Exmouth HO resource when needed
9. To help run the Training Centre customer reception
10. To contribute to the marketing activities of the Company as required
11. To undertake general duties as required to make the running of the Carlton Institute/Partner site work more effectively.
Other:
Working with colleagues - work in close cooperation with other lecturers, Exmouth HO. This may include meeting attendance.
Health and Safety - carry out teaching responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Educational /Professional Qualifications
|
- Recognised professional qualifications to Level 3 preferably above
- Teaching qualifications or senior relevant training experience in industry

- Specific teaching qualifications such as - 7407
- Assessor qualification
- Willingness to gain assessor qualification whilst working
|
|
Work experience
|
- Minimum 5 years + experience in the spa and beauty industry
- Must have hands on practical experience and not management alone
|
- Taught or be able to teach NVQ level 2 and 3, beauty therapy
- More ability to teach wide range of additional spa and beauty courses such as IPL, Reiki, Microdermabrasion etc
